Just a few pictures today.
First up, some people fishing off of one of the bridges going across the Nile. Unfortunately, this doesn't exactly show the river. lol
We were moving when I snapped the shot and it snapped a bit too late.
Next we have a shot of our "cute" tub/shower. I really don't understand the design of this at all.
The next two pictures are food pics from when we were at the in-laws. Remember I talked about the cow knees? lol
Last is the rice stuffed intestines. Yum yum!
The first step in these is boiling them in some kind of broth. And then after that they are fried in oil.
We went for a nice long walk down to the bakery, Le Poire last night. Got a couple of dry but tasty croissants, and a couple of cinnamon rolls (though they were without icing and just have some sugar glaze?).
The plan is to go for another walk tonight and maybe go to that one store we were going to go to before, Dary.
We shall see!

GUTS STUFFED WITH RICE???? UH`NO, I THINK I'LL PASS!
Hi, Melis, from Roseburg, OR. We just got back from Gene's and Jill's - had a nice dinner with them, but unfortunately, no cow knees or rice stuffed intestines. We continue to enjoy your postings and photos. - Love, Mom
If I imagine those intestines filled with proper sausage stuffing they look delicious. Pity they can't do that. Cows knees fall into that category of things that should not be eaten like pigs feet and chicken feet and shrimp heads. Yuck!
Actually, the rice sausages were decent. Just a little too spicy for me. The rice is the same kind as is used to stuff veggies (which is then called maashi). I just have a funny way to call things sometimes, and if I really think about what I'm eating (intestines) it's kinda... ya know... blech.
lol
Anyways, hubby's mom is a great cook and they were good.
They can also be stuffed with meat like a regular sausage, but his mom doesn't do that, she just does it with the rice.
Hey mom, hope you're enjoying your trip so far. I bet it's lovely up there. I've been dreaming of the ocean lately. lol *sigh*
Well, we don't plan to be seeing the ocean this trip - it's always overcast and foggy on the Oregon coast this time of year - maybe around September. On the farm, Grandpa always made sausage when they slaughtered - using pig guts as the casing. Boy, was that German sausage delicious! Heading over to the Oregon Garvin's now. Will give Jill your blog addy; Gene checks it now and then, but Jill didn't even know he had the info. Love, Mom
For some reason I just assumed you would be by the coast. Oops.
